easyJet has launched four new services between Newcastle Airport and Reus, Tenerife, Prague, and Sharm el-Sheikh this week, offering a range of new destinations for customers in the North East to explore.
The new routes to Reus and Tenerife took off on Saturday August 1 and will continue to operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Reus, the birthplace of Gaudi and a gateway to the beautiful Costa Dorada, is proving popular amongst travellers looking for an exciting city break.
Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, offers stunning beaches and breathtakingly diverse landscapes – with options for every customer, whether they’re looking for a relaxed weekend away or an adventure.
Flights to Prague took off on Sunday 2 August and will now operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, perfect for a long weekend in one of Europe’s most historic capital cities.

Flights to Sharm el-Sheikh took off on Monday 3 August and will now operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, offering travellers easy access to one of Egypt’s premier resort destinations, right on the Red Sea.
Package holidays are available to book with easyJet holidays, inclusive of flights and hotel plus 23kg luggage and transfers on Tenerife and Sharm el-Sheikh beach holidays.
The tour operator is currently offering savings of up to £700 on thousands of package holidays departing before October 2027.
All holidays can be booked with a low deposit of £60 per person and benefit from easyJet holidays’ Ultimate Flexibility which includes the freedom to change a booking, a refund guarantee and a Best Price Guarantee.
Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle Airport, said: “The launch of easyJet’s new routes to Prague, Reus, Sharm El Sheikh and Tenerife marks another significant milestone in the airline’s continued growth at Newcastle Airport following the opening of its new base in March.
“In just a few months, easyJet has more than quadrupled its network with flights and package holidays now on sale to 31 destinations, giving passengers even more choice to enjoy popular sunshine getaways and cultural city breaks.
“This investment reflects the strong demand for connectivity from the North East and comes at a hugely exciting time for the Airport. We are on track for a record-breaking summer, with more than 1.4 million passengers expected through our terminal.”
Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We delighted to be offering customers in the North East four new direct routes from Newcastle to Reus, Tenerife, Prague, and Sharm el-Sheikh with the launch of our flights this week.”
“From sun-sure beach getaways in Sharm el-Sheikh and Tenerife, to heritage-filled city breaks in Prague and Reus, there’s something for everyone!
“By introducing another exciting selection of routes and package holidays from Newcastle, we’re providing even more choice, convenience and great value for customers across the North East this summer to book and fly with ease.”
In June, the airline also announced five new routes on sale for this winter from Newcastle to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada and Rovaniemi.
The new winter routes provide an even greater range of destinations whether travellers are looking for a cultural city break, winter sun or a Christmas adventure to Lapland.
Great value seats to Reus, Tenerife, Prague and Sharm el-Sheikh continue to be available to book from £28.99* at easyJet.com and via the mobile app.
