Newcastle Airport is celebrating after its Aspire Executive Lounge was crowned the ‘Best International Airport Lounge in the UK’ at the World Luxury Travel Awards.
Voted for by passengers and industry experts, the premium lounge was recognised for its outstanding facilities and exceptional staff who provide a world-class, pre-flight experience.
Operated by Swissport International, the facility was the first to offer Aspire’s ‘3-tier’ product: the classic Aspire Lounge, Luxe by Aspire and The Suite by Aspire, with capacity for more than 300 guests.
In the classic lounge, passengers can relax in a quiet, comfortable setting while indulging in a wide selection of complimentary hot food, snacks and drinks.
Luxe by Aspire provides a more elevated offering, with exclusive self-service food and drink options, alongside private and open workspaces tailored for business travellers.
For the ultimate luxury experience, The Suite by Aspire features á la carte dining, restaurant-style service and guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the airfield.
Across all three tiers, passengers can access high-speed Wi-Fi, charging points, digital newspapers and magazines, HD televisions and live flight information screens.
The lounge was fully refurbished and reopened in 2024 as part of a wider £20m investment in the Airport's facilities.
