Environment

The Airport is a responsible operator and works hard to ensure it is a good neighbour for both its local community and the region it serves. The Airport's environmental strategy includes an ambition to become Net Zero Carbon by the year 2035, a journey which has already begun.

  • Monitor and manage the noise environment within local communities

  • Deliver a comprehensive water and air quality monitoring programme

  • To deliver the Net Zero Carbon 2035 plan, and to reduce energy consumption

  • To reduce the amount of waste produced per passenger, increase on-site recycling of waste and continue to divert 100% of waste from landfill.

  • To protect and enhance biodiversity, whilst maintaining a safe operation.

  • To promote public transport and sustainable travel.

  • To comply with all relevant environmental and industry related obligations, and continually improve environmental management to demonstrate best practice.
