Aer Lingus Regional services begin new Belfast City service from Newcastle International Airport
Aer Lingus Regional services from Newcastle International Airport to Belfast City Airport took off earlier today, marking the start of the new daily service between Newcastle and the heart of Belfast.
Benefitting business and leisure passengers alike, the daily service now connects passengers directly to the heart of the capital of Northern Ireland, with Belfast City Airport located just 3 miles from Belfast City Centre.
Belfast is home to great music, tasty food and friendly locals, serving as the gateway to explore Northern Ireland’s World-Class museums and rich heritage, such as the Titanic Museum and the Giant’s Causeway UNESCO World Heritage site.
The addition of daily flights to Belfast City, the Aer Lingus Regional services between Newcastle and Dublin were increased to daily earlier this year, providing more choice and one-stop connections to the USA and Canada. The launch of the new Belfast service doubles the airline’s flights and capacity from Newcastle International Airport.
Georgia, Christine and Sarah from the North East were on board the inaugural flight to Belfast City today, celebrating Sarah’s 33rd birthday with a weekend in Belfast and said: “We’re so excited to be on the first flight from Newcastle to Belfast for the airline. It’s great that the Belfast City Airport is so close to the city centre as we’re only away for a short break so are looking forward to exploring as much as we can.”
