Drone Operations

It is illegal to fly within the Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) of a protected aerodrome, or within any other airspace restriction without permission. You are not permitted to fly a drone within the FRZ as indicated by the map below, at any time, unless you have permission from Air Traffic Control at the Airport.

How to obtain permission

To obtain permission to fly a drone within this area, a request should be made by completing the below form and giving 24 hours notice.

The request should include the following information:

• Date/time and duration of flight
• Location (full address including postcode)
• Maximum height of Drone above ground level
• Operator name and contact details (including mobile number)
• Additional information (operator ID, qualifications)

Drone pilots will then be asked to call Air Traffic Control via telephone 20 minutes prior to flying for final approval. The telephone number will be provided in the e-mail request acknowledgement.

Data from drones in this vicinity, which may include personal data, will be obtained, retained and shared with appropriate law enforcement agencies for the purposes of crime prevention & public safety. Please see our privacy policy for more information.
