Changing Places Toilets
People with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as other serious impairments such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis or an acquired brain injury, often need extra facilities to allow them to use the toilets comfortably.
Newcastle International Airport now has a Changing Places toilet located in the check-in area before security. If you are unsure where to find the facility, please ask a member of the team who will be happy to help.
Changing Places toilets are different to standard disabled toilets, with extra features and more space to meet these needs. For more details on the Changing Places facilities, go to www.changing-places.org.
Multi-Faith Prayer Room and Quiet Space
Newcastle International Airport has a brand-new multi-faith prayer room and quiet space located inside the terminal near the security entrance. The dedicated space is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and has comfortable seating, prayer mats, religious text and other resources.
We also have a committed Chaplaincy Team on site who support passengers and airport employees of all faiths and no faiths with spiritual care and guidance.

Luggage Wrap
Situated next to our Passenger Assistance Desk at the check-in area, our luggage wrapping service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is great for ensuring that your bags remain in good condition.
Luggage Storage
If you wish to leave items at the airport, there is luggage storage located at the Oversized Baggage desk (before going through security near Passenger Assistance).
All items are accepted at the discretion of the attendant and dependant upon the following:
- Security screening
- Baggage size and weight
- Available storage space
- Public safety and hygiene
The left luggage desk is open 24 hours a day. Luggage is charged at £8 per piece per 24 hours.
Smoking Areas
Smoking is not permitted within the terminal building. Smoking of e-cigarettes is also not permitted anywhere in the terminal building.
Before security
Designated smoking shelters are available to the front of the terminal building. For the convenience of others, please use the areas provided.
After security
Bar 11 have an outside smoking area situated at the back of the venue. If you require further direction, please speak to staff.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal building, giving you access to all the information you need while on the move.
The free service can be accessed by connecting to the network _NCLFreeWiFi. We also provide a faster, premium service, which can be accessed via _NCLPremiumWiFi. Our premium services costs £5 and is perfect for video streaming and gaming.
