Newcastle International Airport Training Academy offers Wildlife Management courses that are designed to give attendees the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to effectively control and manage bird and wildlife hazards on airfields and manage the habitat.
This course is perfect for Airfield Operations Personnel and other staff members who may be required carry out wildlife and habitat management on aerodromes as part of their roles.
The Initial (3 day) course includes an off-site visit to a bird or wildlife sanctuary and practical tasks, while the Refresher (2 day) course includes practical tasks. An appointed persons course (1/2 days) is also available on request depending on your requirements.

The Wildlife Management course syllabus includes:
- Bird strikes
- Bird biology and behaviour
- Habitat management and aerodrome ecology
- Grass policy
- Bird scaring techniques and equipment
- The law and wild birds
- Lethal control
- Bird control operations (including health and safety)
- Organisation, management and record keeping
- October 11th -13th 2017

The Wildlife Management course costs £337 to £723 per person depending on delegate numbers and location of training.
