Wildlife Management

Wildlife Management

Our Wildlife Management courses are designed to give attendees the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to effectively control and manage bird and wildlife hazards on airfields and manage the habitat.

Length of Course 

  • Initial 3-day course 
  • Refresher 2-day course 
  • Appointed person half-day course is available on request depending on your requirements

The Wildlife Management course syllabus includes:

  • Bird strikes
  • Bird biology and behaviour
  • Bird scaring techniques and equipment
  • Bird control operations (including health and safety)
  • Habitat management and aerodrome ecology
  • Grass policy
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Laws and regulations 
  • Lethal control
  • Organisation, management and record keeping
Aircraft Marshalling

Aircraft Marshalling

The Aircraft Marshalling course is ideal for those who are new to the industry or an airside operations role and need the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to undertake marshalling duties.

Length of Course 

  • 2-day course

The Aircraft Marshalling course syllabus includes:

  • Introduction to marshalling equipment, gloves, wands etc
  • Practical vehicle marshalling (positioning a vehicle onto an aircraft stand from the taxiway in a standard “nose in” position)
  • Practical vehicle marshalling (positioning a vehicle onto an aircraft stand from the taxiway into a non-standard ‘nose out’ position)
  • Live marshalling of an aircraft onto a stand in standard ‘nose in’ position*

*Please note: Multiple aircraft need to be done before progressing onto non-standard marshalling. The level of marshalling also conducted before course completion will vary depending on the applicant’s experience.

Winter Operations

Our Winter Operations course is ideal for those working within an airside operations role who want to develop their knowledge on snow clearing and de-icing tactics and techniques, practical use of appliances, as well as theoretical input around planning and preparation.

  • Snow clearance tactic and technique 
  • De-icing product application
  • Surface monitoring
