Popular Premium Meet and Greet Car Park reopens at Newcastle International Airport
Newcastle International Airport’s only official ‘Premium Meet and Greet’ car park has fully reopened to passengers following 2 years of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Located immediately in front of the terminal, the Premium Meet and Greet car park allows passengers to simply drop their car off before heading straight into the terminal. Inside the sector leading facility, there is a modern, high-specification waiting area – with a hotel-style reception where a uniformed members of staff are waiting to welcome and collect passenger keys. On returning to the Airport, the passenger’s car will be waiting for them on arrival.
Dean Ward, Director of Commercial at Newcastle International Airport said: “This is another milestone in the recovery of the Airport due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Thanks to the relaxation of restrictions and the return of all of our airline partners to the region, we have seen a significant increase in passenger numbers over the past few weeks and we are expecting numbers to continue to rise as we head into the Summer season.
Now is the perfect time to reopen this outstanding facility and we look forward to once again providing the best possible experience for our passengers.”
The Airport reported an increase in passengers during the recent February half term school holidays. Over 75,000 customers passed through the terminal over the holiday period, with popular destinations including the Canary Islands, Dubai, Rome, Switzerland and Portugal.
The Premium Meet and Greet car park was part of a multi-million pound investment into the Airport’s car parking facilities in 2019, which also included a new Premium Fast Track car parking area, located even closer to the terminal and featuring extra-wide, convenient parking bays.
Both the Premium Meet and Greet and Premium Fast Track car parks must be pre-booked on the Airport’s website prior to arrival.
