Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Announces Three New Greek Destinations from Newcastle Airport for Summer 21
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have today announced a HAT TRICK of brand-new Greek destinations for Summer 21, giving holidaymakers and independent travel agents even more choice from Newcastle Airport.
The leading leisure airline and tour operator is launching flights and holidays to Kefalonia, Santorini and Skiathos from Newcastle Airport for Summer 21.
The announcement comes in response to strong demand for holidays to Greece in Summer 21. Today’s announcement means that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate to a total of nine Greek destinations - Corfu, Kefalonia, Halkidiki, Heraklion (Crete), Kos, Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini and Zante – from Newcastle Airport in Summer 21, as holidaymakers look to book holidays in the Greek sunshine.
Today’s announcement represents almost 20,000 additional seats on sale to Greece from Newcastle Airport – with weekly services on each of the new routes expected to prove very popular with customers looking to get some much-needed sunshine.
This expansion comes just one week after the company launched flights and holidays from Bristol Airport, its tenth UK base. The launch of a new UK base for Summer 21, followed by this Greek expansion, demonstrates the company’s confidence and underlines its long-term strategy to become the UK’s leading leisure travel business.
The new destinations announced today from Newcastle Airport are as follows:
• Kefalonia – weekly Friday services operating from 23rd July through to 8th October. With rugged mountains, lush vineyards and golden beaches, Kefalonia is a picture-book island paradise. Lakes and caves draw you in, with the promise of immersing yourself within the setting of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. In addition, resorts such as Skala, Argostoli, Lassi, Katelios, Fiscardo, Lourdas make this a truly remarkable destination.
• Skiathos – weekly Friday services operating from 21st May through to 8th October. This unspoilt island, hailed as the ‘Aegean paradise’ features stunning beaches and traditional terracotta topped Greek resorts such as Achladies, Kolios, Koukounaries, Skiathos Town, Troulos and Agia Paraskevi.
• Santorini – weekly Monday services operating from 26th July though to 1st November. Santorini is a picture-perfect destination which is on many people’s bucket lists. As well as soaking up the breathtaking views along the caldera, holidaymakers can see the world-famous sunset at Oia, enjoy the local vineyards, or take in one of a number of key archaeological sites, such as ancient Akrotiri, a Minoan settlement preserved under volcanic ash.
As well as booking and travelling on award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays to these destinations, customers can get to experience and enjoy the company’s VIP customer service which has seen Jet2.com and Jet2holidays grow its business and repeatedly win high-profile accolades such as Which? Recommended Provider and TripAdvisor’s Best Airline – UK and Top 10 Airlines of the World.
This VIP customer service includes friendly flight times and a generous 22kg baggage allowance through a flight-only booking with Jet2.com, which saw the airline win five accolades at the 2020 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice® Awards for Airlines; or that very same VIP customer service, in-resort Customer Helpers, transfers, free child places and ATOL protection with the UK’s second largest tour operator, Jet2holidays.
The company has continued this customer-first strategy throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, winning praise from customers, consumer organisations, media, and independent travel agents for how it has looked after customers affected by programme changes. This includes Jet2.com and Jet2holidays ranking as the number one and two travel firms for providing refunds, according to a travel refund cancellation survey of more than 77,000 people by MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE). In addition, Jet2.com was recognised as the only UK airline to promptly provide refunds without significant backlogs, following a review by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Demand from customers and independent travel agents across the North East is telling us that flights and holidays to Greece are very much in demand for Summer 21. As ever, we are responding quickly to that demand to give customers even more choice from Newcastle Airport.
