  • Leading leisure airline and tour operator adds thousands of extra seats to the Canary Islands and Turkey for next October
  • Additional flights now on sale to Rhodes too
  • Expansion represents over 4,000 extra seats for customers to book early and beat the rush

31st October 2022: With holidaymakers booking getaways for late Summer 23 in their numbers, and Jet2holidays have responded to strong and sustained demand by adding more flights and holidays to popular destinations across the Canary Islands, Turkey and Greece from Newcastle International Airport.

As the leading leisure airline and UK’s leading tour operator to the Canary Islands and Turkey, the companies are offering a huge and unrivalled programme to these destinations for Summer 23 from Newcastle International Airport and have now expanded this even further, in particular during the October half-term period. Additional flights have been added for the October half-term holidays next year to Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Antalya and Dalaman.

Strong demand for flights and ATOL protected package holidays means and Jet2holidays have expanded their Summer 23 programme to Rhodes from Newcastle International Airport too.

The additional flights represent over 4,000 extra seats going on sale, giving holidaymakers and independent travel agents in the North East even more choice and flexibility, as well as fantastic value, when it comes to booking or travelling on a Summer 23 holiday, particularly during the October half-term.

As well as offering customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility, it also gives them the opportunity to book head and get the price of their next October half-term holiday locked in now.

Steve Heapy, CEO of and Jet2holidays said: “We are seeing strong demand throughout Summer 23 from customers and independent travel agents in the region, with the October half-term period proving to be an extremely popular time for a holiday. In response to that, we have added additional capacity across popular destinations in the Canary Islands and Turkey, as well as in the Mediterranean. As families are increasingly looking for great value holidays, booking a half-term holiday for next year now allows them to get the price locked in. While the size and scale of our Summer 23 programme from Newcastle International Airport means we are already offering unrivalled choice, we are expanding this even further and giving customers and independent travel agents in the region even more flexibility to book or enjoy a holiday.”

He added: “With customers flocking to get Summer 23 holiday booked in their diaries, we are anticipating a hugely successful summer season and are confident that these additional flights from Newcastle International Airport will be a massive hit.”
