Newcastle Fire Training Academy goes international
Firefighters from Faro International Airport have been in the region completing three weeks of training with Newcastle Airport Fire Training Academy.
30 members of the firefighting team from the airport were given the opportunity of working with the Academy's experienced fire service personnel and in state of the art facilities.
Tim Oakes, Training Academy Manager, said: “Faro is unique in its own environmental regulations with RFFS personnel not being able to experience realistic training scenarios. Working very closely, the team developed a training plan to ensure all learning outcomes were achieved in accordance with the regulatory requirements.”
