Cargo

Newcastle International Airport’s cargo business has grown considerably over recent years. Our operators handle between 400 and 450 tonnes of cargo every month to and from destinations worldwide.

Airport Capabilities

Newcastle International Airport has:

  • A first-class freight village with a comprehensive range of facilities, allowing our operators to provide efficient and reliable air cargo shipment to the highest standards of safety and security.

  • Excellent transport links for customers across the North of England with our Freight Village less than 5 minutes drive from the main north-south arterial A1 motorway.

  • On-site business partners, including Pets on the Move, a registered Animal Reception Centre. Local Freight Forwarding and Ground Handling Agents are listed below.

  • Category 9 status firefighting capabilities.

  • A proven track record of handling wide-bodied aircraft, including Emirates’ daily service, which has operated since 1st September 2007.
Why Choose Us?
  • Flying directly from the North East's largest Airport results in less handling of goods, meaning less chance of loss, damage, or missed connections.

  • Our relative proximity and lack of congestion will drive efficiencies and support sustainability goals.

  • For operations in the North of England, using an Airport closer to you helps reduce logistic issues caused by weather, scheduling, and cancellations.

  • Newcastle International Airport offers late cut offs for both general cargo and dangerous goods.

  • Dangerous Goods checks are carried out at the Airport.

  • We work closely with our ground handling agents to facilitate the smooth handling of goods, including minimal wait times.
