Eastern Airways add extra flights to Aberdeen, Southampton, Cardiff and Stavanger
North east business travellers now have a greater choice of services, as Eastern Airways increases flights and introduces extra seat capacity from Newcastle International Airport.
From Monday (3 March), Newcastle’s most punctual scheduled airline* will increase services from five to six flights each weekday to Aberdeen and three to four a day to Southampton. Larger 50 seat Saab 2000 aircraft providing up to 60% more capacity will operate the flights from the north east to both cities.
There will also be three flights each weekday introduced from Newcastle to Cardiff and two a day to Stavanger in Norway from 7 April 2008.
The UK regional airline is also offering lower great value one way fares starting from £49 including taxes and charges to coincide with the launch of more flights and additional seat capacity.
Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: “Business commuters want punctual, convenient flights specifically timed to suit their travel patterns and our increased services from Newcastle enable us to provide a comprehensive schedule to meet their needs and expectations. To complement these additional services we have introduced excellent value lower one way fares, which will also appeal to leisure travellers.”
All passengers travelling with Eastern Airways benefit from dedicated fast track security channels at Newcastle, Southampton and Cardiff airports and are not charged for hold baggage. After having a choice of seat, on board all customers receive a high quality, friendly service with complimentary drinks and snacks, including champagne.
Although Aberdeen is regarded as Europe’s energy capital, the surrounding Grampian region has coastal and mountainous scenery ideal for walkers. Along with many historic castles, the region has the world’s only malt whisky trail and a wide selection of golf courses.
Southampton is famous for its maritime history and has many world cruise liners leaving its port. It is the gateway to the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth and has many financial institutions located in the Hampshire region.
Flights from Newcastle to Birmingham and the Isle of Man are also provided by Eastern Airways.
