Eastern Airways announce more services to Cardiff from Newcastle International
North east business travellers flying to Cardiff now have a greater choice of services as UK regional airline, Eastern Airways, launches more flights from Newcastle International Airport.
From Monday (7 April), Newcastle’s most punctual scheduled airline* will increase weekday services from two to three flights a day from Newcastle to Cardiff providing more flexibility and convenience to meet demand.
Cardiff is a vibrant city, which is home to Europe’s largest waterfront development - Cardiff Bay and, also has business links with the north east in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, utilities, finance, law, insurance, manufacturing and construction industry sectors.
This latest move by the airline follows last month’s increase of Newcastle weekday flights from five to six a day to Aberdeen and from three to four a day to Southampton.
Recently Eastern Airways introduced lower one way fares starting from £49 including taxes and charges to coincide with the increase in flights to key UK cities including Cardiff.
“Our enhanced services are tailored to meet the needs of north east business commuters,” said Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer. “We are offering the best choice of flights to Cardiff enabling travellers to conduct important business away from the office without the need for an overnight stay. Our service to the Welsh capital is also significantly quicker and more convenient than the long cross country road journey or rail alternatives.”
All passengers flying with Eastern Airways are able to use its dedicated fast track security channels at Newcastle and Cardiff airports to avoid queues.
There are no additional costs for those travelling with hold baggage and, all passengers have a choice of seat and are offered onboard complimentary drinks and snacks, including champagne.
