Guidelines for reporters, film crews and photographers

LANDSIDE

We will normally accommodate media requests to film in landside (publicly accessible) locations at the airport for the purpose of following a news story.  Please contact Wendy Dawley before arriving on site. Specific permission is required in order to accommodate sat trucks/radio cars on site for live broadcasts.  If the news story relates to an airline, we advise that permission is sought from the relevant airline press office.

AIRSIDE

Access for filming or photography in airside (security restricted) locations will be granted whenever this is particularly pertinent to the news story.  Please note that media wishing to gain access to airside locations must be accompanied at all times by a member of airport staff and will be required by law to produce one of the following forms of ID in order to progress through security search:

  • Photograph-bearing driving license
  • Current passport

(Please note, no other form of ID can be accepted as a substitute).

RESTRICTIONS

Filming and/or photography of the following activity is not permitted:

  • The security search area, security proceedures or personnel.
  • Airline, Tour operator or Handling agent operations and/or staff (unless permission has been granted by the relevant company)

Reporters, photographers or film crew who are deemed to be disrupting normal airport operations or causing unnecessary inconvenience or distress to passengers or staff will be asked to leave the site.
