The ‘Pick Up and Drop Off’ car park is situated immediately outside Newcastle International Airport terminal building, and is used primarily for rapid drop off and pick up of passengers. This facility provides 120 parking spaces with 5 minutes free parking and recommended maximum stay of 30 minutes. This car park has two approach lanes, each of which branch out to two entry points, providing four entries points in total.
Process for Passengers with Disabilities
Accessible parking bays for people with disabilities are available in both sections of the car park. It is recommended to take the right hand lane as you approach and use the right hand section of the car park. We recognise that people with disabilities may require a longer period of time for drop off or pick up, and therefore offer the following options: -
- You can contact the airport customer services team on 0191 214 3305 in advance of your journey, to request special assistance upon arrival at the airport, if required. Alternatively you can use the special assistance telephone in the right hand area of the pick up and drop off car park, next to the accessible bays.
- Upon arrival at the airport, take the right hand lane towards the 'pick up and drop off' car park, then take the right hand entrance, and locate the accessible bays close to the pedestrian crossing.
- For drop off or pick up, where the five minute free period is exceeded, you will be given free exit from the car park (Unless you wish to visit the terminal and stay for longer than pure pick up / drop off e.g. to visit the shops or cafes).
- If you experience any difficulty, please use the special assistance telephone to contact customer services. Alternatively you can use the intercom facility on the payment machines or exit ticket machines, to contact the car park operations team, or you can telephone them on 0191 2144022.
- Wheelchair assistance is also provided by the airlines, which should be requested at the time of booking your flight or holiday.
