Volcanic Ash Update

Following the announcement today by the Civil Aviation Authority that the majority of UK airspace will reopen from 13:00 (local time) today, we confirm that Newcastle Airport remains open for inbound and outbound flights. Newcastle is one of the only airports to have remained open throughout the past few days. Consequently, during yesterday afternoon and evening we were able to handle a total of 19 diversions. We are, however, experiencing some cancellations and delays due to the situation elsewhere and associated backlog. Customers should therefore check with their airline before setting off for the airport.
